Our production and trading company in the food industry needs support with the logistical planning of production. We are therefore looking for production planning software that meets the following requirements:
We usually have our products manufactured by several contract manufacturers once a month. Currently, production times are getting longer and longer, so we have to plan 3 months in advance. In some cases, there are three open production cycles for a single product. The software must be able to calculate when we need to place orders and for how much. It must also inform us when we need to order the necessary raw materials. In addition, it must be able to order subcontracts at the right time (for example, the packaging must be labeled in good time so that it is with the contract filler two weeks before production begins. The program should calculate when we need to order the labeling of the bags).
Furthermore, sales are of course not linear. I need to be able to change the average sales figures over certain intervals. For example, weekly.
At some point, it would certainly be nice if it were possible to import the inventories from our warehousing system or to work directly with the software we use (interface to the existing, cloud-based merchandise management system).
We work in a Windows environment. A purchase or rental solution would be conceivable for us.
Two software workstations are planned.
