We are a manufacturer in the ceramics industry and are looking for software for storing project data, i.e., a database for projects. The main goal is to give employees in the technical office the ability to store or link all of the data related to a technical project in a single software system. Custom development is also an option.
Currently, the meta and file data associated with a project are entered into different software systems and are not linked to each other. It is very difficult to get an overview of all the technical data for a project and often involves a lot of searching and asking questions. The bill of materials for a project is available in various versions in Excel format for everyone to see, but the actual bill of materials is created by the technical office and can only be viewed using software that is used exclusively by the technical office.
The metadata for a project should be stored in a database and made accessible to different departments with different permissions. The definition of the required fields and suggestion lists should be done before implementation and be expandable by us in the future. The input and search masks must be configurable.
The files for a project (customer drawings, technical specifications, etc.) should be stored in a file folder and classified. A parts list (quote/order) can be stored for a project. This can be entered manually or imported from the PDM and can be used by the software to generate a quote/order in ERP and also display the status of existing business transactions.
It should be possible to retrieve drawings from external systems (DMS/PDM).
Ideally, data migration should take place, during which completed projects are processed. The software should NOT be used for classic project management. The software should make data from different systems visible without mirroring it to another database.
Interfaces to ERP (SQL), PDM (API), and DMS (REST) should be available or be able to be set up.
Ten to 25 software workstations are required.
