We are an Austrian landscaping and earthworks company looking for software that ensures all employees can find their construction site and have all the information they need for their work. As this is becoming increasingly confusing due to our constant growth, we need a uniform system for coordination, planning, tracking, and optimization.

Some of the work is one-off, but a large part is recurring (i.e., 2–18 times a year). Until now, we have been using a common messaging service to transmit information, including locations. Although this is functional, it is not sufficiently professional or clear.

This is how we envisage the process in the future:

  • Each employee will be given a tablet or company cell phone.
  • We can organize and control this from the company PC (currently MS Windows 11) and from the cell phone (currently Google Pixel 8).
  • Each employee is assigned their “construction site(s)” on a daily or weekly basis. This can be one site for several days or 20 sites per day, depending on what needs to be done.
  • A route can be planned using the addresses entered.
  • The order and number of construction sites can of course be changed at any time (as can the employee).
  • Each “construction site” should contain the following:
    • Address with postal code and street (if available)
    • Address with location as in WhatsApp location (as we have many construction sites that do not have complete addresses)
    • Type of activity, tools, machines, vehicles required
    • Approximate duration of the activity
    • Description of the construction site in text form
    • Description of the construction site in an attachment (photo, plan, etc.)
    • Contacts that are important for the construction site (phone numbers, who to call in advance, etc.)
    • ...
  • The employee should be able to mark the construction site as “completed,” ideally with their own details such as work effort (hours), material consumption, delivery notes from external companies (scanned via cell phone or tablet), notes, improvements, operating hours, m³ of waste, grass, wood, etc.
  • On premises or cloud

One to four software workstations are required, depending on how rights are assigned and user regulations are organized. In any case, one full license with all rights (for the office) and three with restricted rights for field service.
