TheGlobal Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a web-based network for data exchange between trading partners. It connects 30 certified data pools with almost 25,000 companies worldwide.
The GTIN Connector provides SAP® users with a comprehensive tool for sending relevant GS1-compliant material master data directly from the SAP®ERPsystem to GDSN-certified master data pools such as 1WorldSync.
All relevant GDSN data fields (code lists, attributes, etc.) are mapped in the central SAP® Cockpit. These data fields are filled automatically and validated article data is published automatically. Master data can be imported from SAP® as well as from non-SAP® applications or Excel files.
The integrated GDSN plausibility check (pool rules, LMIV, etc.) immediately shows whether data is incorrect or missing. These can then either be corrected manually via the GTIN-Connector interface or by calling up the material maintenance transaction (e.g. MM02) via "Goto" and revising the master data there.
The GDSN message choreography is also already mapped in the GTIN connector. The publication or transmission of article data (CIP, CIN) and the feedback from the pool and trade (CIC) are automated and documented so that it is possible to trace who (target market or recipient GDSN) received which data and when. If necessary, faulty data can be corrected directly and resent.
