I am looking for a document management system (DMS) for my law firm in northern Germany.

The solution should meet the following requirements:

  • Only provide a digital replacement for paper files, i.e., enable scans, emails, outgoing documents (MS Word), and electronically received PDFs to be stored in chronological order in a file or similar with as little effort as possible
  • OCR would be desirable, but can also be done separately
  • Suitable for home office use
  • Local installation or web-based

The problem is that I can only find software that is far too comprehensive and has functions that are not needed at all because of the software we already have. We are very satisfied with the law firm software we use and do not want to change it, but it offers everything we need except document management – because apart from the files, everything is already digital.

Six software workstations are planned. We work with MS Windows systems.
