We produce and publish our own magazine, which is sold worldwide. We offer it individually and by subscription. We also produce and sell software and merchandising items. Our company is not required to prepare financial statements, but is subject to sales tax. With the new software, we want to switch completely to a paperless office.
Special case:
We need subscription management.
We currently offer 8 different subscription options. Subscription management is not based on date but on issue number. For example, subscription type 1 from issue 1 to 6. Not to mention a flag indicating whether a subscription is automatically renewed, canceled, etc. Including standard statistical functions such as “List all subscriptions ending with issue 6.”
It must be possible to print address labels for all customers in a single subscription category. Depending on the subscription category, different address labels must also be used. It must also be possible (for postal billing purposes) to know how many customers have a particular active subscription.
For national press shipments, Deutsche Post requires a list by postal code areas (the first 2 digits of the postal code). This means that there must be a way for us to mark subscription categories 1, 4, and 8, for example, and then output the corresponding statistics with the routing areas.
A semi-automatic subscription billing function would be good. (e.g., at the touch of a button: all subscriptions in subscription category 1 that run until issue 6 receive a bill for the renewal of the subscription)
The software should meet the following additional requirements:
We currently do everything ourselves with income surplus calculation and ELSTER. We are also in the process of writing a program that exports the master data to a .txt or .csv file. This also allows us to adjust the data structure of the file.
One software workstation is planned.
