MEANS - Mechanical Analysis System - an FEM system that is CAD-neutral
The MEANS FEM system is independent of the CAD system you are using. Our tried-and-tested solution processes neutral DXF, STL or STEP files. Additional basic modules MEANS INVENT up to 999,000 nodes for 999€ and MEANS HIGH END with an unlimited number of nodes and elements for 2490€.
Advantages
The FEM software MEANS V13 is an extremely versatile application with which you can map statics, dynamics, temperature, buckling and CFD analyses as well as shape optimization and contact conditions.
The features of the FEM software include
- user-friendly ribbon user interface with fast DirectX11 engine for Windows 10
- Linear statics with 2D/3D beams, 2D slices, plates and rotation slices
- 3D solid elements (tetrahedron, pentahedron, hexahedron)
- 2D and 3D mesh generators with DXF, STL, IGES, STEP interfaces
- 3D shell elements, linear and quadratic (with node, line and surface load, temperature load, centrifugal force and gravity)
- Fast FEM solver up to 499,000 nodes and 499,000 elements with all element types
- With mixed tetrahedron-beam structures for the calculation of CAD models that cannot be converted immediately into an FEM model but still contain non-contact assemblies that do not touch each other.
Various add-on modules are available for the MEANS FEM system.

- Buckling add-on module for calculating the permissible buckling and buckling load
- Dynamics add-on module for calculating natural frequencies with natural vibration modes
- Temperature add-on module for calculating stationary and transient node temperatures, convection, heat sources and thermal radiation
