Trading company seeks freight calculation software

We are a small to medium-sized trading company with a trading volume of approximately 200–250 containers per year, and we are looking for software to assist us with freight calculations, cost analyses, and post-calculation. We prioritize the direct operational support provided by such a module; therefore, full integration into our existing IT system is not currently planned. Route planning is not necessary.

We have the following requirements for the software:

• Implementation of current freight rates (pre-carriage, main carriage, and post-carriage for all modes of transport) into project, piece, pallet, container, and carton sizes/freight shares, as well as comparison and variant calculations based on multiple placement or pallet factors)
• Model and/or optimization support
• Modeling, projection, and simulation of transport costs
• When determining freight shares, our focus is on the exchange of information between three relevant data pools: product master data, service provider data, and order data
• Data import and export must be supported
• If necessary, manual data entry should also be possible to perform calculations or simulations using this database
• Each completed freight calculation should be stored in a database according to various criteria and made available for comparative calculations
• An analysis tool and the ability to generate graphical representations would also be necessary.
• An MS Excel-based solution is conceivable

In the first step, a standalone solution on 2 PCs is planned; in the medium term, 3–4 software workstations are planned.
