Furniture manufacturer seeks software for export control and compliance

We are a large furniture manufacturer and are also increasingly exporting products to North America and the Middle East. At present, three commercial employees in logistics alone are involved in exports.

Both the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany have imposed conditions on resident companies with regard to goods, countries of destination and persons to be supplied. For example, members of terrorist organizations may not be supplied.

Compliance with these requirements is currently ensured manually. In future, we would like to process and ensure export controls, including all compliance checks, in an automated, legally compliant and economically sensible manner.

For these tasks, we are looking for software with the following requirements

• Checking sensitive goods, persons and countries
• Is the business partner (customer, supplier, subcontractor, etc.) listed? (Check: terror and sanctions lists of the EU & USA)
• Are there export restrictions against the countries involved? (Check: Embargo lists)
• Classification of goods and subsequent checks:
• War Weapons Control Act
• Firearms Ordinance
• Anti-Torture Regulation
• EC Dual-Use Regulation (Annex I and IV)
• Export list
• Check: Can general licenses (AGG) be used?
• “Catch all”/end use check, if classification of the goods or the checks without a hit -> Check: is there an end use in the following areas?
• NBC weapons incl. carrier technology
• Military end use (for arms embargo countries)
• Illegally exported military equipment
• Nuclear facilities
• Documentation of the test results
• Information via e-mail or similar in the event of a positive test
• Transmission of e.g. AGG codes in the export accompanying document

• Use of current data
• Expandability
• Integration into ERP system or customs clearance system

Desired scope of delivery: Software including implementation (installation, customizing), training and service.
