We are a mechanical engineering company and are looking for calculation software for our product and project calculations. Among other things, we are active in the fields of drive, automation, and process technology.

The software should meet the following requirements:

  • Product and project calculations
  • Calculations should generally work by adapting existing SAP analogies (all costs from the analogy are automatically transferred)
  • Easy to use (frequent switching between different windows should be avoided)
  • It should be possible to save different versions
  • Cost overview – breakdown into different search criteria
  • Variable batch size calculation – the aim is for the calculation to be automatically adjusted by simply changing the number of units in assemblies (e.g. setup time or design automatically divided by number of units when the number of units changes; purchase prices automatically adjusted for graduated prices, etc.)
  • Calculation overview (as in Excel calculation, including calculated hours for individual cost centers, material share, other costs, etc.), which should be printable in a clear format
  • Assemblies should be easy to edit in a clear and structured manner without having to repeatedly access individual items
  • It should be possible to filter materials, cost centers, other costs, etc. across all assemblies
  • It should be possible to create calculation templates
  • Automatic creation of quotation parts lists in MS Excel, PDF, etc., based on the calculated data
  • PLAN factor should also be visible after order receipt or quotation rejection
  • Comparison of different calculations/calculation variants
  • Search function for reference calculations or reference assemblies or projects
  • Compatible with SAP EHP8 --> S/4HANA
  • Digital quotation file (instead of S drive); data should be stored in the system
  • Uniform “digital” quotation specification (template) Data should be transferred directly to quality management planning (QMPL) etc. when an order is placed
  • For various documents (e.g., quotation parts list or quotation texts), it must be possible to select the language (German and English) during automatic creation
  • When calculating in-house production cylinders, master data (e.g., production times, depending on the stroke and dimensions) must be pulled automatically
  • Calculated values (working hours and costs) should be automatically communicated to downstream areas.
  • The option to view multiple quotations as a package (similar to the Excel calculation summary tab) – the data should be automatically merged (by entering the quotation number).
  • This should be printable in a clear format.
  • An assembly overview (of all calculated assemblies) should be able to be created automatically.
  • It should be possible to calculate options that can be easily switched on and off.
  • It should be possible for several employees to work on a calculation at the same time.
  • It should be possible to work offline (during negotiations on site at the customer's premises).
  • Comment fields or text fields on individual items (per assembly).
  • Price comparisons and offers from purchasing should be linked and visible
  • Calculations should be automatically transferred to SAP SD offers, orders, or projects
  • Master data from SAP (type, plant, unit of measure, cost type, etc.) must not be entered manually (as in VA22)
  • It should be possible to create calculations even without a quotation previously created in SAP.
  • Automatic quotation creation from calculation (first calculate, then create quotation in SAP at the touch of a button).
  • CAD data should be directly accessible in the calculation via material number.
  • Entry of target costs for each calculation item.
  • Hours should be automatically transferred to existing project management software.
  • Encryption of quotations where there is a confidentiality agreement
  • When calculating existing material numbers, all master data should be transferred
  • The option of calculating alternative items
  • Scaling should provide a simple way to adjust production hours (e.g., assembly 50% larger than analogy --> all hours +50%)
  • Material interfaces to EPLAN
  • Marking of calculations that are older than one year
  • Fixed storage of project discounts at supplier level (e.g., Mustermann, up to EUR 10,000 --> 2% discount, from EUR 10,000 --> 4% discount)
  • Option to store an individual checklist (own calculation template with free fields or tabs)
  • Search for reference systems and assemblies by accessing SAP classification
  • Cost development when changing the quantity (graduated prices for volume contracts)
  • Transfer of the calculation bill of materials to SAP
  • Local installation or web-based

Approximately 100 software workstations are planned. MS Windows systems will be used.
