COBOL Migration: Modernise your COBOL code quickly, securely and without any detours using CoSort!

Enables mainframe migration: intelligently transform legacy data and integrate it seamlessly into modern systems!

Modernisation and migration of COBOL data: IRI CoSort enables COBOL data to be transferred efficiently and securely to modern target environments. The solution supports the conversion of complex COBOL data types and proprietary file formats, enabling seamless migration between mainframe and open-system platforms – including automatic adaptation of character sets (EBCDIC/ASCII) and byte order (endian).

Existing COBOL copybooks are used directly for metadata extraction, ensuring that data structures are transferred consistently and integrity is reliably maintained. Even complex legacy formats such as ISAM files or variable record structures can be processed efficiently and converted into common target formats such as CSV, XML or databases.

A particular advantage lies in the central control via SortCL

Multiple processing steps can be combined in a single job:

  1. Data conversion and transformation
  2. Integration with other data sources
  3. Masking of sensitive information
  4. Reporting and output to multiple target systems

In this way, IRI significantly reduces the effort required to modernise COBOL applications and creates a powerful foundation for further processing in modern data platforms.

Efficiency meets experience: For more than four decades, our software solutions have been supporting companies in data management and data protection – technologically leading, reliable in productive use and applicable across all industries.

In use since 1978: Numerous well-known companies, service providers, financial institutions and state and federal authorities are among our long-standing customers.

Maximum compatibility: Our software supports both classic mainframe platforms (Fujitsu BS2000/OSD, IBM z/OS, z/VSE, z/Linux) and modern open system environments such as Linux, UNIX derivatives and Windows.
