We are a writing service and are looking for project management software for our writing work.

The software should meet the following requirements (the criteria are sorted by importance. The first four criteria are basic requirements):

  • Interface to Espo
  • Kerio Connect interface
  • Data security (own server, at least in Europe)
  • Language: German
  • Resource planning (time, processes, money, working hours, vacation)
  • Board function, work packages, to-do lists, teams can be created
  • Access rights
    • If external authors are given access, they should only be given access to a specific area of a project
  • Structured communication platform
  • Chat function
  • Integration of mobile devices
  • Intuitive user interface
  • Project controlling

Furthermore

  • Checklist function, sign-off function
  • Gantt charts
    • Would like a timeline display where you can see all current projects at a glance every day and also see where the project stands.
  • GDPR-compliant
  • Suitable for home office
  • On-premises (data stored on your own server)
  • Open to open source, but the provider of the open source software should be available when it comes to customizing the software
  • License-expandable, i.e., new users or accounts should be able to be created quickly

Approximately 20 software workstations are planned. Apple devices (macOS and iOS) will be used.

Based on the specific requirements, the following solutions can be considered:

Projektron BCS - Web-based project management software
Xpert-Timer
