Innovative technology for fast SCM

Bottlenecks, overcapazity, wrong delivery or time and cost intensive express orders are commonplace in many companies. The reason is lacking coordination within a company and in the companies supply chains.

This problem has been tackled in the big firms by developing costly solutions to optimize their supply chains, so called Supply Chain Management (SCM) Systems.

A cost-saving and almost equally powerful SCM-solution has now been developed by LogControl®. It particularly addresses the needs of all smaller and medium sized companies that cannot or do not want to buy big solutions, e. g. SAP or i2.

This is, after all, according to EU-statistics 95% of all manufacturing companies within the EU. Awarded by the EU for its innoative software-approach has the LogControl® solution already proven its productivity in the international, EU- sponoered NETSTOCK project. LogControl® SCM is a data-slim, perfor-mance-strong application which is espe-cially tailored to meet the demands of smaller and medium sized companies.

Self-optimizing of networked business processes

LogControl® SCM ties in with the functionality of an existing PPS/WWS and takes over old-fashioned planning and control functions that leave aside the situation of connected and dependent partners. Information about orders, stock and schedule within the supply chain can easily be accessed round the clock because the flow of goods within a company and among the companies in the supply chain is displayed in realtime.

LogControl® SCM acquires with every order more knowledge about possible production- and supply-chains. The system learns about the changes in the lists of components and in the working plans, in-house as well as in external manufacturing, and includes the feedback in its subsequent order proposals. LogControl SCM handles schedule- and quantity-control and generates order and manufacturing proposals.

Bottlenecks and oversized stock- and time buffers are exposed early enough to be fixed within the com-pany, with the suppliers and the logistics service companies. This results in reducing delivery time and transaction costs as well as savings in stock. Using LogControl SCM leads to a thoroughly end-customer focused view of all procedures.

Saving through Information-Sharing

The scheduling module harmonizes all schedules in the supply chain. The quantity module checks availability of all necessary components as e. g. material, tools, transport- and production-time.

New EU-Projekt Rolling Stock extends Netstock-approach with planning features and "track-and trace"

The Rolling Stocks project is a web-based information platform (Rolling Stock Monitor) for article based tracking and tracing information which is supplied with data by XML data communication from different systems of the partners in the supply network.

The aim of the project is a web-based information platform (Rolling Stock Monitor) for article based track-ing and tracing information which is supplied with data by XML data communication from different systems of the partners in the supply network. With the ability to provide continuously the information requested, the Rolling Stock Monitor enhances the supply chain visibility across the different suppliers and different logistics service providers and supports the inter-company co-operation.

The Rolling Stock Monitor will enable in particular the receiving company to control the incoming transport flows across the different logistics service providers, integrating also possible dedicated communication solutions. The monitor allows the localisation of, and the transparent view inside the transport units down to the level of the specified articles, ordered for stock and production. In consequence, the overall logistics cost will be cut, based on better vehicle usage, lower stock values, better ramp management for unloading processes and better harmonisation between material input flows and production processes. On the gen-eral transport and traffic level, the control of freight transport flows will be optimised and the efficiency in vehicle fleet usage will increase. This will have positive effects on the overall performance of transport infrastructure and transport modes and hence reduce the negative impact of freight transport on the environment.
