Program Name: QMSys Uncertainty Workshop Version: 4.3
Software tool for the evaluation of the measurement uncertainty
Program Description:
QMSys Uncertainty Workshop (Keywords: analyze, evaluation, calibration)
QMSys Uncertainty Workshop is a comprehensive software tool for the evaluation of the measurement uncertainty. Whether you're a scientist, metrologist , design engineer, production engineer, test engineer or anyone else concerned with measurement accuracy, you need to know only information that falls within your technical specialty. QMSys Uncertainty Workshop furnishes the statistical analysis, while you furnish the technical knowledge. Compliance with standards and guidelines The QMSys Uncertainty Workshop software is compliant with the demands of the standards: - ISO/IEC/EN 17025:2005 - General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
- ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006 - Requirements for the Calibration of Measuring and Test Equipment.
This is because the analysis and computations follow the rules of the official regulations and guidelines: - ISO ENV 13005:1999 Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement
- Supplement 1 to the "GUM" - Propagation of distributions using a Monte-Carlo method
- ANSI/NCSL Z540.2 - U.S. Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement
- EA-4/02 Expression of the Uncertainty of Measurement in Calibration
- UKAS M3003 - The Expression of Uncertainty and Confidence in Measurement
- DKD-3 Angabe der Messunsicherheit bei Kalibrierungen
- VDA Band 5 – Prüfprozesseignung
- EURACHEM/CITAC Guide, Quantifying Uncertainty in Analytical Measurement
- NPL Report DEM-ES-010 Software specifications for uncertainty evaluation
- NPL Report DEM-ES-011 SSfM Best Practice Guide No 6: Uncertainty evaluation.
Advantages of the QMSys Uncertainty Workshop software The QMSys Uncertainty Workshop program is using since its first release the two most powerful methods to calculate the measurement uncertainty. The first method implements the uncertainty propagation described extensively in the GUM uncertainty framework. The GUM uncertainty framework has some limitations and is suitable only for linear and quasilinear models. The second method is an implementation of the Monte-Carlo method detailed in the first GUM Supplement. The Monte-Carlo method is the only reliable and easy to use method for the evaluation of the measurement uncertainty, which is suitable for all linear and non-linear models of the measurement process. Therefore all measurement uncertainty evaluation, which made using the QMSys Uncertainty Workshop fully compliant with GUM and GUM Supplement 1, and therefore also with ISO/IEC/EN/DIN 17025 - 2005, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006. The QMSys Uncertainty Workshop supports the user on his stepwise way through the entire evaluation process. This process consists of the following basic steps: - Application of the GUM uncertainty framework
- Application of the Monte-Carlo method
- Validation of the GUM uncertainty framework using the Monte-Carlo method.
Saving you time and money, QMSys Uncertainty Workshop provides: - a quick and reliable way to evaluate measurement uncertainty
- a knowledge of the sources of uncertainty in your method
- a better understanding of the measurement process
- starting points for optimizing the measurement procedures.
The most important features offer: - Support of greek letters, superscripts and subscripts in mathematical model, quantity names, descriptive texts and metrological units
- Suitability for linear and not linear models of the measurement process
- Support of symmetrical and asymmetrical distributions of the output quantities
- Unlimited number of input and output quantities
- Calculations of the combined standard uncertainty, the expanded uncertainty and the coverage interval
- Support of the following probability distributions: Normal, Lognormal, Student's t, Rectangular, Triangular, Trapezoidal, U-shaped, Quadratic, Exponential, Cosine, 1/2 Cosine
- Direct and indirect methods of observation, user can create his own measurement methods
- Support for import of observations
- Histogram plot and statistical evaluation of sampled data
- Calculation of correlation between observations of different quantities
- Calculation of the coverage factor for Normal, Student's t, Rectangular, Triangular, Trapezoidal distributions
- Simulation of the distribution using Monte-Carlo Method, which takes also into account correlations between the uncertainty sources
- Adaptive and non-adaptive Monte-Carlo, trials from 10 000 up to 10 000 000
- Result validation for Monte-Carlo Method
- GUM uncertainty framework validation using the Monte-Carlo Method
- Histogram plot and statistical evaluation of the results calculated with Monte-Carlo Method
- Cause and effect diagram which shows a uncertainty influences and their relationships
- Diagram that shows the trend of measurement uncertainty over the whole working range
- The ability for customers to provide themselves or to adapt the templates for reports and other documents by means of a standard text processing softw
- Export to other programs (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel , …)
- Compatibility with Windows® 2000/XP/VISTA
- Other features of professional software: multi-language flexible and user-friendly interface, help system, a lot of examples, metrology support regarding the measurement model, technical support, free trial version, etc.
QMSys Uncertainty Workshop is the most cost-effective measurement uncertainty analysis tool for achieving compliance with ISO 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3. This product is an ideal uncertainty analysis solution for testing and calibration laboratories that support a wide variety of measurement equipment.
