VCH Biblio for Windows places at your disposal a bibliographic data
manager that works the way you've always wanted. More than just a database for
organizing data manually, VCH Biblio also establishes vital connections to
other information sources, turning data import from CA, MEDLINE, or Current
Contents into child's play.
VCH Biblio searches your entire database for the information you need, and
at lightning speed. Using logical operators you can even come up with the
answers to complicated questions.
VCH Biblio upgrades your bibliographic information, giving it the value it
deserves. Once a set of data has been assembled it can be easily and repeatedly
adapted to meet any demand that might be imposed by virtually any type of
publication, even an application that calls for a tabular format, or for data
entry onto a pre-printed form.
Literature OLE!
VCH Biblio supports Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) version 2.0,
facilitating data exchange with other applications that also recognize OLE 2.0
(such as Word for Windows 6.0): Drag and Drop is the easiest technique for
moving data within an application, or transfers it between applications.
VCH Biblio functions as an OLE server for reference lists
New references can be added to a manuscript either by the drag and drop
approach or via the clipboard, just the way you already handle illustrations
and other discrete document elements. The resulting direct line between your
word processor and VCH Biblio ensures that all your citations and reference
lists will stay current and you're spared the nuisance of manual renumbering.
Citation styles can be changed with the click of a mouse, leading to complete
and immediate revision throughout the manuscript.
OLE Client: It goes almost with out saying that OLE objects of any type can
also be stored within a VCH Biblio database.
Online or CD-ROM ?
With VCH Biblio theres no need to ask! The programs dataimport module offers
interfaces to a wide variety of popular databases, including MEDLINE, Chemical
Abstracts, World Patent Index, Current Contents, Reference Update, and many
more.
If your particular database happens not to be included, you can also develop
your own interfaceor even ask us for help!
Cite it any way you wish
VCH Biblio isnt limited to reference lists numbered sequentially. You might
prefer to have some reference lists arranged according to the namedate system,
and you can sort your references any way you choose.
Citation styles conforming to the rules of a wide range of publications are a
standard feature of the VCH Biblio program package. In addition, a powerful
format editor| lets you give free rein to your imagination.
This ones not cast in stone
With VCH Biblio's integrated BASIC programming language you can create your own
applications to work together with your database. The BASIC feature also
provides you with a tool for writing your own dialogues.
You'd prefer not to bother with programming? Then take advantage instead of the
programs recording function, which automatically converts your every action
into BASIC code, opening the way to much speedier completion of frequently
recurring tasks.
