Contrary to other Connection Manager companies, our background comes from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) market, not from companies like Ericsson or Nokia. When we were founded in 2001, our team had already been working together for several years in the ISP market. Some of us have been working together for more then 7 years, building connection software.
Knowing the ISP business one can state that 30% - 40% of the total budget of an ISP goes to the helpdesk and customer support. The reason for this is the fact that on average a customer calls the helpdesk once every month and the fact that this is combined with a relatively long talk time because of the technical nature of the calls.
At that time we realized that the major cost savings could be achieved by building software that would restore errors (EZ Restore), (a) thus reducing the amount of calls, but also (b) reducing the talk time if a customer called. Actual figures showed that our EZ Restore software for example achieved a cost reduction of 48% of the total budget of one of our customers Services Department.
